Powerboat Level 2

This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations.

Assumed Knowledge:
None required.

Course Content: 
Launching and recovery, Boat preparation, crew preparation, boat handling, securing to a mooring buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, being towed, man overboard procedures.

Three trainees max per course.

Course Duration:
2 day (0930-1700).

Ability after the course: 
To be a self-sufficient powerboater in appropriate conditions, to be aware of your own limitations, and those of the vessel.

RYA Recognised Training Centre

Tayside Powerboats is a recognised RYA Training Centre. All practical courses are held on the Tay Estuary at Broughty Ferry. Our office at Marybank Lane Dundee has full classroom facilities.
